I don’t have enough time to write a full post today, but though I would share this lovely picture from one of my favorite photographers (and one of my favorite people in general!), Meg Perotti. Meg and I met about a year ago, when I contacted her to get rates for a client of mine. Since then we’ve had the pleasure of becoming friends and working together multiple times… yet I still get blown away by some of her images, like this one. Composition is one of those things it’s hard to put your finger on when you look at a photo, yet she just nails it every time.
One detail I loved from this wedding (hard to tell from just this pic alone) is the bride’s floaty dress, which, if you are tall and slim and can pull it off, makes a beautiful statement in pictures. I know it seems like many brides these days have pictures in a field of wildflowers, but seriously, it’s just so darn pretty I can’t help but love it anyway! Nature will always be beautiful and timeless in my mind, so when you have the choice of taking pictures in a field of wildflowers or on bicycles with balloons and lollipops…. my vote goes with the wildflowers. 🙂
I think I may have already gushed about how excited I am to be planning Meg & Tim’s November wedding. But just in case I haven’t, let me say that I am beyond ecstatic that Meg and Tim decided to hire me as their wedding planner. Not only are they amazing people and a wonderful couple, but they have such a fun, stylish vibe and are getting married in an awesome historical venue just outside San Francisco. In short, they are dream clients and I couldn’t be more blessed.
Miss Meg is a ridiculously talented wedding photographer herself, so of course she picked one of the best photographers to trust with her own wedding photos – the one and only Jasmine Star. Jasmine posted a few gorgeous shots from Meg & Tim’s engagement shoot on her own blog last week and I had to ask if she’d allow me to repost a few here. I mean, I just couldn’t resist sharing their beauty with you all. And when you see them, you’ll know exactly why: a fabulous faux party scene, great clothing and beautiful photographs of a couple in love… it just doesn’t get much better than that. If you loved this sneak peek, be sure to head over to Jasmine’s blog for more pretty, pretty pictures of Meg & Tim.
P.S. How fabulous are Meg’s shoes? She is a girl after my own heart! 🙂
That’s all for the lovely photos… hope you’re all enjoying a wonderful weekend! The weather is divine in Los Angeles, so I’m heading out to take the doggies for a nice, long walk…

The past week has been a flurry of wedding planning and styling fun at The Stylish Soiree, and I’m excited to finally have a moment to sit down and share it in a post. First, the ridiculously talented Meg Perotti, photographer extraordinaire, has hired me and honored me with planning her Northern California wedding in November 2010. Meg has a killer eye for style and also loves the romantic, vintage wedding look that echoes my own wedding planning aesthetic, so it’s been rather like a bridal match made in heaven for me. I accompanied her last week on a wedding dress shopping trip with visions of feminine, floaty dresses in our heads that would compliment her “Pride and Prejudice” meets “Anthropologie” style wedding.
On our hunt through some of the best hidden places in Los Angeles for finding the perfect wedding dress, Meg tried on everything from frothy a-line tulle confections to beaded lace wedding gowns with cap sleeves, and found the one. “The One” not only fit the theme of the wedding to a T, it also fit and flattered Meg perfectly – seriously, it looked ten times better on her than it did on the mannequin. I’m under strict instructions not to divulge details of “The One”, but I’ve included Meg’s wedding dress inspiration board above to give you a taste of the style we were searching for. I’m so excited to continue planning her wedding, and can’t wait to see the elaborate vision we have come to life in November up in the Marin Headlands (just outside of San Francisco) – gorgeous venue, gorgeous bride, gorgeous style – how did I get so lucky?!
This Friday I’m styling another bride (Sara, who is having a modern Palm Springs wedding in March) for her engagement shoot this weekend with OC-based wedding photographers Allison & Kyle of Studio 28. I’m bringing my camera and fully intend to blog about it asap, as well as tips on wedding dress shopping and engagement shoot style – so stay tuned!
