elie saab pastel gowns blogWe cannot get enough of these pastel bridal gowns. They are an elegant and beautiful choice for brides looking for something a little different and unique. These spring colors are sure to make a lovely statement and add a beautiful flare to any wedding. This collection of gowns came from Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture. There seem to be more and more pastel wedding dresses coming out each season with every collection and we are so excited to see this trend grow and take root – it’s a perfect way to introduce a little fun color for the nontraditional bride!

Green & Gold Spring Wedding Inspiration

Simple Spring Centerpiece and table arrangement

Spring Centerpiece and table Arrangement

We love nothing more than the chance to collaborate on styled wedding inspiration shoots with some of our favorite vendors. In this design, bold greenery against a white and black table setting adds a pop of color to this beautiful arrangement. Some extra little green and gold accents really bring out the fresh feelings of springtime.  Vintage touches in the glasses and candle holders give the table a little something extra. This elegant table arrangement is perfect for any outdoor or spring wedding.

Unique, Stylish Valentine’s Day Gifts For Your Wife

pretty plum sugar robe - valentine's day giftAhh, Valentine’s Day – the official day of romance. While lingerie, flowers and candy are the holiday’s gifting mainstays for the important lady in your life, I’m a fan of going with something a little more subtle, yet still romantic. Here are my top picks for unique, stylish presents for your girlfriend or wife on Valentine’s Day:

1. Scoop Back Kimono Style Robe – Pretty Plum Sugar, $68 (see photo above)

What I love about this robe is the sexy shape and beautiful fabrics – it’s less obvious than buying your lady lingerie, but she’ll love it so much that it just might have the same effect.

stylish black candle

2. Byredo Cotton Poplin Candle – Net-A-Porter, $80

This candle is so simple, sleep and stylish. It’s the perfect luxurious present that avoids being cheesy, but is still a beautiful romantic gift. I mean, who doesn’t love to be bathed in candlelight?

white faux mink throw

3. Faux Fur Mink Throw – Calypso St. Barth, $395

This ultra-soft and sophisticated faux fur throw is a perfect compliment to almost any home’s decor. It makes a gorgeous throw on the bed, couch, and can make a fabulous makeshift throw in front of a fireplace on Valentine’s Day too… just saying! 😉

What are some of your favorite unique, non-traditional yet still stylish ideas for Valentine’s Day presents? Or what is the favorite gift you’ve ever received for Valentine’s Day? Leave us some love below, we want to hear from you!

Happy Valentine’s Day, all!

DIY- Vintage Windowpane Seating Chart

Image

A windowpane seating chart gives a unique twist to your average escort board at your wedding reception, and is quick and simple to make!

You will need: An old window pane found at a junk yard, or a new one found at Home Depot/Lowes (which you can then paint and sand to give it a roughed up, vintage look.) and a paint marker.

Write the table numbers followed by the guests to be seated at that table on each windowpane. To do this you can use your best handwriting, or print out what you want each window pane to say in the font you want and tape it to the back of the glass. You can then trace over the words with your paint marker. Thats it! You have your fabulous wedding reception seating chart.

Brides- you could use this windowpane idea for your signature drink sign also!

DIY Mercury Glass Centerpieces

Image

Mercury glass makes for such beautiful centerpieces filled with flowers or candles.  Believe it or not, the mercury glass look it is also easy to make yourself!  All you need is: Krylon Looking Glass spray paint (found at Michaels or other craft stores), various glass containers, vinegar, a spray bottle, water, and paper towels.

Step-by-Step Instructions for DIY Mercury Glass Containers…..

1.  First, your spray bottle mix one part vinegar with one part water and shake to combine.  Spray a fine mist on the outside of your glass object.

2. Almost immediately, follow up with an even layer of Krylon Looking Glass spray.

3. Allow to dry for just a minute and then follow up with another layer of the vinegar/water  spray (there should be fine beading creating variations in the looking glass spray).

4. Allow to dry for about 2 minutes and blot the beads of vinegar/water with a paper towel.

5. Repeat until you get the look you want and let dry!

Brides – are you planning on using any mercury glass accents for your wedding? If so, are you going gold or silver?

Elie Saab Wedding Gowns…. le sigh.

Elie Saab does it again with his ethereal, out of this world gorgeous gowns.

The back of the Elie Saab dress – like a fairytale. If I could do it all over again and choose any dress irregardless of price, this one just might be it. Although I’d take any number of other amazing Elie Saab gowns just as happily. 😉

What’s your ultimate dream gown, lovelies? Do you dream in lace, beading, or tissue paper taffeta?
