Elie Saab Wedding Gowns…. le sigh.

Elie Saab does it again with his ethereal, out of this world gorgeous gowns.

The back of the Elie Saab dress – like a fairytale. If I could do it all over again and choose any dress irregardless of price, this one just might be it. Although I’d take any number of other amazing Elie Saab gowns just as happily. 😉

What’s your ultimate dream gown, lovelies? Do you dream in lace, beading, or tissue paper taffeta?

XOXO Yelena

Stylish Fall Bridesmaid Dresses

I might be biased toward Amsale since my own wedding dress came from them, but I can’t help but go gaga over their gorgeous gowns. I also l-o-v-e their line of bridesmaid dresses, which are constructed so well that you’d never guess in a million years that they are bridesmaid dresses. A lot of bridesmaid dress makers make the claim that their designs can be worn again, but then we’ve all seen 27 dresses, haven’t we? 😉

The Amsale bridesmaid dresses, however, really do seem like they would make a great party dress to be worn after the fact. All of three of the dresses below would flatter a wide range of body types and can be dressed up or down with accessories and hair styles. Casual, outdoor fall wedding? How about gifting your bridesmaids with a nice looking neutral colored shawl they can wrap around their shoulders to stay warm. Formal, indoor fall affair? Consider gifting them with blinged-out, oversized cocktail rings – a different gemstone for each girl. They can wear either the wrap or the cocktail ring all season long, which makes it a thoughtful present.

Here are three of my favorite fall picks from Amsale’s most recent bridesmaid dress collection, which come in rich fall colors like wine, spice, coco and cranberry:

Bridesmaid Dress Alternative: Nicole Miller

Nicole Miller Aquamarine chiffon dress Nicole Miller’s new collection of dresses would be a simply stunning option for bridesmaid dresses.  The airy silk georgette is so feminine and soft, and the range of colors is gorgeous as well. The color palette includes this light blue / aqua dress at left, an apricot color, a mustard yellow, forest green and berry red; a nice wide range for brides with varying color schemes.

I, personally, would love to see a bride incorporate the apricot pink, muted yellow and light aqua together within the same bridal party. I’ve already confessed my love for a muted pastel color palette, and this look would be sheer perfection.

These Nicole miller dresses were launched two days ago on Bluefly’s Wedding Shop section, but sadly have disappeared as of this morning.  I’m hoping that they were just offering a preview and will bring them back ASAP (and come to the rescue of bridesmaids everywhere who want to buy a dress they really CAN wear again). Plus, they were 60% off and only cost $125, providing the rare combination of stylish bridesmaid dress and a reasonable price tag.

If you happen to have any news about these dresses, give us an update in the comments section!

Monique Lhuillier Bridesmaid Dresses

Monique Lhuillier concocts the most delicious wedding gown designs, and now she is turning her talents to bridesmaid dresses. Who wouldn’t l-o-v-e to be a bridesmaid in a wedding that requires wearing a Monique Lhuillier dress? I believe the collections are officially available in Fall 2009, but here is a sneak peak with a few of the gorgeous dresses…

Stylish Alternative Bridesmaid Dress

calvin-klein-strapless-tiered-dress I love the simple elegance of this delicate Calvin Klein frock, and think it would make the perfect stylish alternative to a bridesmaid dress.  The knee-length, body-hugging cut is made demure by the layers of featherweight organza, keeping it young, fresh and feminine. The platinum color reads like a dove gray or steely lavender, making it versatile for so many beautiful color palettes.

Plus, unlike clingy satin bridesmaid dresses, this one won’t highlight lumps and bumps. It really is the best of both worlds – a slimming, fitted shape with a little extra fabric that skims over imperfections to give your bridesmaids a stylish, put-together look for the big day. Now what could be better than that?

Not much, which is why this bridesmaid dress gets two thumbs up from a picky stylehound like ourselves.

Lela Rose Bridesmaid Dresses

lela-rose-dress-in-graylela-rose-dress-yellowAfter assisting my friend and client (Jenny) with her bridesmaid dress search, I was again reminded how difficult it is to find cute, stylish bridesmaid dresses. Even harder is locating cute bridesmaid dresses that flatter a wide range of body types.

Although I found my bridesmaid’s stylish dresses at the lovely Bella Bridesmaid (whose founder I had the pleasure of interviewing for an upcoming article in Better Bridal Magazine), most of the chic dress options they provide are in the $200 + range, which is out of many brides’ and bridesmaids’ budgets.
